Thanksgiving Day

In 1620, some English pilgis sailed across the Atlantic Ocean on the Mayflower to arrive at America because in England they were persecurted for no practising the predominant religion. It was winter when they arrived on the American coast and the pilgrims haven't got food or shelter, then Native Americans helped them and thaught the pilgrims how to survive. The next year, those pilgrims invited the Native Americans to a feast with them. Bt with the years, that friendship weakened, they started to fight and the samllpox killed over a 80% of the population, so Thanksgiving day wasn't celabrated any more for a lot of years.

Nowadays, Thanksgiving is celebrated all arond the USA on the 4th Thursday of November. That weekend are the busiest days for travelling because all people go home to see their families and make a feast with pumpkin pie, turkey, corn, carnberry sauce, stuffing, green bean casserole...
The most common activities people do on Thanksgiving are the Turkey Trot, see the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade os New York City and watch american football games on TV after dinner.

The day after Tanksgiving is Black Friday and all people go shopping.
